Where it’s found

Within Pakistan, a country renowned for its vast mineral riches, lies Himalayan crystal salt. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, at the northern edge of the Indus River Valley, these deposits reside in the Salt Range. For millions of years, natural processes have purified the salt within this 200-mile radius.

Salt

Himalayan Crystal Salt isn't just rock salt (also known as halite). Unlike other salts, its dense crystals contain over 84 additional trace minerals naturally occurring within their structure. This unique mineral composition is what makes Himalayan Crystal Salt prized as one of the purest forms of salt found on Earth.

Talc

Deposits of talc, a magnesium silicate mineral, are also found in the Parachanar region of Pakistan. Soapstone, a soft and easily carved rock composed mainly of talc, is often associated with these deposits. The geological makeup of the region likely holds potential for exploration and development of these economically valuable industrial minerals.

Quartz

Enriching the geological tapestry of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province in Pakistan is the ubiquitous presence of quartz, the Earth's most abundant mineral. From colorless crystals to smoky hues and even faden quartz with captivating internal structures, this versatile mineral graces various locations throughout KPK. Quartz find within the Swat.

Discovering the Mystique of Soapstone

Soapstone, known locally as “Sang-e-Sulemani” in Pakistan, is primarily found in the northwestern regions of the country, particularly in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), which are now part of KP. The most significant deposits of soapstone in Pakistan are located in the following areas:

  1. Buner District
  2. Swat District
  3. Dir District
  4. FATA Region
