Soapstone
TALC – SOAP STONE
The Kuram area of KPK contains large amounts of high-quality soapstone (talc). The deposits take the shape of lenses, pods, and huge masses. The soapstone has a lamellar structure and an outstanding white colour. The estimated proven and inferred reserves total hundreds of thousands of tonnes. The MgO content exceeds 30%, SiO2 ranges from 54 to 60%, Fe is less than 0.1%, and the deposits are asbestos-free. The company has sought for five exploration licences covering 100 acres each in the area. The corporation also acquired partnership rights to a leased and working deposit.
